Well I had some extra cash so I talked the wife into letting me get a PS3 today

I have been searching for a 60 GB model as it had the PS2 Hardware built in and thought the I would have to go used or I found some available at Sam's Club for $550 w/ Motostorm which I thought was stupid since the 80GB model comes with Motostorm and is only $500. Well since I had to renew my Sam's Club Membership to do that ($35) I decided to pass. And low and behold, stopped at our local Pamida and they had one left. I was excited until I saw the sticker price was still at the $599.99! So talked with the night person and it rang up at $499.99 which was much better even though I didn't get MotoStorm. But I tried talking her down to $450 giving my reasons. She had to call the manager and finally after 20 minutes, she came down and said they couldn't because they would be taking a loss. So I picked it up anyway.
Well some of you might be wondering why I picked up the 60GB instead of the 80GB w/ free MotoStorm? Well as mentioned it has Hardware PS2 inside of it instead of emulated via software. Also it has four USB ports on the front instead of three that I believe the new ones do and also memory card slots are multiple instead of the new ones also (what I heard anyway). Last, the price of these babies are more then $500 currently on eBay! Not many of them have sold so will be a rarity in the future.
Anyway, to quickly add there is some news stories about how Sony is only paying $400 now instead of $800 that they once were for making a PS3. This is a duh, but yeah the original had more ports, a PS2 inside the case, and more including the price for components was a bit more higher, yeah of course now it costs less. Anyway, just a little insight on my view of this great news from Sony.
And since it looks like Blu-Ray might be winning currently, it makes sense to get the PS3 for movies also.
